Kite and Pinata FestivalThe SRAC enjoyed creating kites with families during the Springfield-Greene County Park Board's Cherry Blossom Kite and Piñata Festival, Saturday, April 22 at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park. The event, moved indoors to rain, also served to dedicate the Peace Through People Pavilion.

Springfield Sister Cities Association announces construction of new pavilion

The Springfield Sister Cities Association announces the construction of the new Peace Through People Pavilion to welcome more cultural performances and events at the Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park.

Construction will begin this summer on the Peace Through People Pavilion, a partnership among SSCA, Friends of the Garden and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.

Arts Council grants funding to 10 regional nonprofit organizations

The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) awards $17,500 in Arts and Culture Grants to 10 area nonprofit organizations. The recipients will be recognized in a public presentation December 2 at The Creamery Arts Center to kick off First Friday Art Walk (FFAW) at 4:30pm before The Creamery's opening of "$100 and Under" (5:00pm-8:00pm).
