Has the artistic process transformed you as a person? How has your ability grown or changed over time? Perhaps you’ve experienced or witnessed transformation in other ways. The Springfield Regional Arts Council invites visual artists to participate in the show “Metamorphosis,” depicting the art of transformation.
As an interactive component, in addition to your submitted pieces, we are accepting photographs of earlier works, to show the metamorphosis of your work and style.
“Through all of our exhibits at The Creamery, the Springfield Regional Arts Council has had the luxury of watching regional artists evolve and grow in style and medium,” Executive Director Leslie Forrester says. “We are excited to see the emergence of this transformation in one show.”
Up to three works of any medium and size may be submitted for consideration on Friday, August 25 and Monday, August 28, between 9am and 5pm at The Creamery Arts Center. Artists are encouraged to drop off one 4"x6" photograph of an earlier work to be displayed in conjunction with their original work. Please have photograph clearly labeled on the back with artist name, date, and title of work.
All two-dimensional pieces must be wired prior to drop off. No sawtooth hangers will be accepted. The SRAC will receive a 25% commission on all works sold.
“Metamorphosis” will open with a free public reception during First Friday Art Walk, September 1, from 5-8pm. For more information about this upcoming exhibition, contact the SRAC at 417-862-2787 or email Info@SpringfieldArts.org.
