Springfield Little Theatre (SLT) is overjoyed to hold auditions for its 2017-2018 holiday production, Elf Jr. the Musical, on Monday or Tuesday, September 25 or 26 at 7pm at the historic Landers Theatre. Callbacks are Wednesday, September 27 at 7pm. Audition workshops are offered on Monday or Tuesday, September 18 or 19 from 7pm-9pm.

Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy featuring a talented youth cast follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity. Zoe Zelonky will direct the production, and Clayton Avery will serve as music director.

Elf Jr. the Musical features roles for performers ages 7-18. Auditioners should prepare a one-minute vocal selection and bring sheet music; an accompanist is provided.

The production opens at the Landers on Friday, November 24 and runs through Sunday, December 10. All auditioning must be available for every performance without exception. Rehearsals are held Sunday afternoons and Monday through Thursday evenings.

Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to run their vocal selection with an accompanist, learn the movement combination, tackle cold readings from the script, and receive feedback. The workshop costs $20; preregistration is preferred or you may pay at the door. Please visit SpringfieldLittleTheatre.org to enroll.
