Arts Council challenges area artists with upcoming exhibit "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles: The Art of Motion"

The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) is pleased to announce the call to artists for Planes, Trains and Automobiles: The Art of Motion” an exhibit at The Creamery Arts Center from Friday, March 3 to Friday, March 31, 2017. All area artists are encouraged to participate.

Just as all things appear to be moving, the SRAC calls upon the artists of Southwest Missouri to show their best interpretation of all things mechanical or in motion. Be it a representation of gears on a bike or something referring to movement.   We want to see how you envision movement or automation.

Works of any medium and size may be submitted for consideration on Friday, February 24, or Monday, February 27, 2017, between 9:00am and 5:00pm at The Creamery Arts Center. All two-dimensional pieces must be wired prior to drop off. SRAC will receive a 25% commission on all works sold.

“Planes, Trains and Automobiles: The Art of Motion” will open with a free public reception on First Friday Art Walk, March 3, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The show will remain on display until March 31, 2017.
