Little Theatre adds performance of Disney's Beauty and the Beast

Performances of Disney's Beauty and The Beast Junior run Feb. 23-March 5, 2017

The Springfield Little Theatre (SLT) proudly presents Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. at the historic Landers Theatre from Thursday, February 23 through Sunday, March 5, 2017.

Due to a nearly sold out run, SLT added a performance on Sunday, March 5 at 5:00pm.

Based on the Academy-Award winning motion picture and the original Broadway production that ran for more than thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, Disney’s Beauty and The Beast Jr. is a beloved take on a “tale as old as time.”

Featuring some of the most popular songs ever written, spectacular costumes, and an enchanting storyline, Disney’s Beauty and The Beast is an international sensation that has played to more than 35 million people in 13 countries. SLT’s junior production, perfectly portioned for our family audiences, is sure to entertain and delight. “Be our guest!”

SLT’s Beauty and the Beast Jr. is directed and choreographed by Josh Inmon with music direction by Kim Snyder. The show features a talented cast of area youth ages 18 and under who are available for interviews and special appearances. Stars include Kyle Widmar, Darby Vincent, Roland Netzer, Declan Rhodes, Sophie Payne, Aryn Bohannon, Ruby Infante, Noah Brous, Moses Leininger, Bryan Osborn, Maceo Cortezz, Asa Leininger, Keavan Coale, and Madelyn Baum.

Beauty and the Beast Jr. is rated G. Tickets range in price from $12-$19; group pricing is available.

Meet Belle, Cogsworth, Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, and more at the Enchanted Pre-Performance Party on Saturday, February 25 at 12:30pm. Enjoy French desserts and tea from the Beast’s castle, photo opportunities, prizes, and more. Pre-registration is required and costs $15 for the first child and $12 for each additional child.

SLT offers a Backstage Pass Tour before the performance on Sunday, February 26 for $8; pre-registration is required at the time of your ticket purchase. Observe company warm-ups prior to the show, take a guided backstage tour, and receive a signed poster and photo with the cast.

Final Fridays Improv Night takes place on Friday, March 3 following the performance; admission is “pay what you can.” SLT’s Teen Players present this hilarious program to raise funds for an educational trip to New York City.
