Wednesday, July 09, 2008
Springfield Regional Arts Council and Springfield Pottery will present an exhibition at the Creamery Arts Center for the month of August opening August 1st, entitled, "OUTREACH: An Exhibition of Ceramic Work Created by the Claymobile Teachers". Artists exhibiting include Sherri Alexander, Michael Bishop, Ashley Byers, Andrew Eggers, Josh Heaton, Joel Harrison, Brian Lynch, Nathan Falter, and Jennifer Falter. The Claymobile is an Arts Council-sponsored mobile ceramic education outreach program dedicated to serving Springfield and neighboring communities through fun and rewarding programming suitable for schools and community based organizations. The exhibition coincides with the 1st annual "TREAT THE ARTS"; an ice cream social and fundraiser to benefit the Claymobile and its ongoing service to our area schools. Treat the Arts will take place on Saturday, August 2nd, from 2-5pm at the Creamery Arts Center. For a minimum contribution of $25 per adult and $10 per child, select a handcrafted bowl made by area artists and indulge in some yummy ice cream. All proceeds benefit the Claymobile and its mission to serve the youth of the Ozarks. Tickets are limited; purchase in advance at Springfield Pottery, 416 S. Campbell Avenue or from the SRAC Creamery Arts Center, 411 N. Sherman Parkway. For more information call 864-4677 or 862-ARTS.
