Springfield Art Museum Announces Fall Studio Classes

The Springfield Art Museum is offering studio art classes for children and adults 16 September through 22 November, 2008.
Registration for the fall studio classes will continue through 12 September. Early registration is encouraged and must be done in person or by mail. Telephone or email registration will not be accepted.
Adult studio classes in Pottery, Watercolor, and Figure drawing will meet on Thursday evenings. Beginning and Advanced Techniques in Watercolor, Clay Sculpture (Items for Home and Garden), Beginning Drawing, Acrylic Painting and Pastels will meet on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the day. Fees for the adult classes range from $55.00 to $75.00 plus materials. Adult classes begin 16 September.
The children’s classes include: Pottery (grades K – 8); Art Is Elementary (grades K – 2); Painting and Drawing (grades K – 2 and 3 - 8); Understanding Comics (grades 3 – 5) and Art is Fun-Da-Mental (grades 3 – 5).. The cost of the children’s classes is $40 and includes the materials. Children’s classes will meet Saturdays beginning 20 September. Art Is Elementary For Home School Kids meets on Friday’s from 10 – 11:30 and begins on 19 September.

The Springfield Art Museum is located at 1111 East Brookside Drive, Springfield, Missouri, 65807. Museum hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday; 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday. The Art Museum is closed on Mondays and during City of Springfield and National Holidays. Free admission.
