The Gillioz Theatre, in partnership with The Moxie Cinema, is proud to present a month of classic westerns at our historic downtown theatre. The Searchers, a John Wayne classic from 1956, will show on August 15th and 16th at 7:00 p.m. and at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17th. The Searchers tells the story of Ethan Edwards. After returning from service in the Civil War, Ethan finds that his home, family, and previous life have been completely destroyed. Now Ethan must embark on a five-year quest to find his young niece who has become an innocent victim in his battles. In addition to great films the Gillioz Theatre welcomes The Kitchen. The Kitchen is a Not-For Profit organization that provides many services to those in need in the Springfield area. In the lobbies of the theatre members of The Kitchen will be available to collect personal hygiene items that will benefit those in need. Audience members are encouraged to bring unopened personal hygiene products such as shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, etc. Cash donations are also welcome. Please join us for outstanding films and the opportunity to support the citizens of Springfield in need. Tickets for the show are $5.00 and seating is general admission. Come early and get roped in to the Wild West. Half an hour before the of start of each film meet cowboys and observe a reenactment of a "shoot out" on stage.
