We are the FIRST to bring you many exciting theatre attractions to Springfield

“YOU saw it first at the Vandivort!” We have produced the largest number of Springfield area theatre premieres: Disney’s High School Musical, The Rocky Horror Show, Bat Boy: The Musical, Hair, Urinetown: The Musical, Edward Albee’s The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, The Pillowman, Nine: The Musical, Shakespeare’s R &J, The Laramie Project, Wit and many, many more. This season is no exception. You will not want to miss a single attraction.

17 productions in the two houses: Springfield area premieres: Psycho Beach Party, Fuddy Meers, Striking 12, Speech & Debate, Doubt: A Parable, The Little Dog Laughed, Bug, My Name is Rachel Corrie and Dinner With Friends.

New productions of classic contemporary plays and musicals: Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the greatest American play in the past 50 years and Annie, the best-loved family musical the world over.

And some of your favorites are returning, this season: Todd & Ali Smith’s A Baby Boomer’s Guide to the Galaxy, Nathan Shelton’s new production of Dracula and Richard Dines’s new presentation of The Vagina Monologues, all sell-outs when presented at the VCT in past seasons. Carol Reinert with MONTAGE returns in a new Cabaret Concert: Love Notes. The Blackout Sketch Comedy troupe, a favorite at 2nd Stage last season and referred to as “SNL on HBO,” with two completely new productions: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Crappiness and The 2009 Spring Collection.
