Developing Your Composition Workshop/Retreat

Composition goes beyond merely duplicating a photograph!  In this jam packed three day workshop/retreat, students will learn the elements and principles of design and how to design a good composition in still life, landscapes and portraiture!

Good composition doesn’t just happen, it’s planned.  Get hands on experience as you plan your next composition.  Local artist/instructor, Audrey Bottrell Parks will guide you along the way.  Stay at the Village and bond with other artists, or come for the day classes.

Two-day Watercolor Workshop "Portraits and Figurative Works in Watercolor" with Alicia Farris

Alicia will share her studies of the human face and figure in this two-day watercolor workshop.  Using Alicia’s characteristic loose and colorful style, you will learn techniques to portray not just a likeness, but more importantly, the personality and emotion of the human face or a subject involved in an activity.  Students will benefit from demonstrations as well as discussion, individual and group critiques.

This class is intended for the painter who has at least a basic command of the watercolor medium.   Portrait painting is not a pre-requisite, just love of color!
