Community Concert & Conversation Series: On Poverty

Community Conerts

The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) will co-host three facilitated conversations that combine art, music, and poetry with ‘red flag’ issues as identified in the Springfield – Greene County Community Focus Report, including poverty, LGBTQ, and race. Each concert will be held at a different community center in Springfield, and feature live music and thought-provoking conversations.

Using classical and popular music, the Springfield Symphony Orchestra will explore big issues about life and death, fate and destiny, are and inspiration, and love and marriage. Composers and artists have grappled with these topics through the centuries, and offered their answers in powerful, fascinating, and thought-provoking works.

Artsfest on Walnut Street grants nearly $5,000 in cash awards to fine artists

Artsfest on Walnut Street, southwest Missouri’s largest fine arts festival, kicked off on Saturday, May 5. The first day of the event drew thousands of patrons who enjoyed an extensive art selection, performances from musicians and dancers on six stages, food from more than a dozen vendors and a variety of family-friendly activities.

The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) is looking for 3D and sculpture artists to submit their work to be part of the Corporate Art Program: Structure Gallery. Artworks of interest include but are not limited to: glass, ceramics, metals, wood, and mixed media which can be functional or fine art decorative pieces.
