I am an artist originally from the small Missouri town of Crocker, currently studying both Psychology and Art at MSU and OTC. (clearly, you can tell I’m bisexual because I couldn’t pick only 1 field of study or university) I spent most of my adolescence in self-imposed isolation before it was recommended, which influenced me to create portraits in order to feel less alone. I became drawn to surrealism after being diagnosed with depression, and desired a way to conceptualize what was happening to me. Through this, art became an outlet for my continued survival by giving me a new voice to scream with.
My work is often vibrantly colored and deeply personal, exploring psychological concepts and the queer identity. I am fascinated by the very human urge to create, and the self-knowledge such expressions of individualism impart on us. This concept of creation is what inspired my current series to depict queer individuals sharing in the divine act of creation, through self-transformation.
