Jin J. X (The Jin J. X Group)
Bio
Jin J. X is a jazz guitarist and singer-songwriter from Chicago IL by way of Springfield MO. A musician of over two decades he uses looping and jazz harmony to express and improvise. He also writes lyrics that touch on race, class, and matters of the heart.
While Jin spent many of his formative years as a sideman for every genre (including gospel, jazz, hard rock/heavy metal, and folk Americana) Jin loves writing original music and loves to perform.
In 2014, Jin established his own record company (The Jin J. X Group LLC) and released his debut album as leader. The self produced “Nightwings” a nod to the 80s R&B funk and soul. Over the next two years Jin made numerous television and radio appearances as well as many local performances.
In late March 2020, Jin released the follow up “Songs for Liz” – a hybrid R&B album with acoustic and indie elements inspired by college radio.
While unable to perform live due to nationwide travel restrictions Jin continued to record and in late September 2020, Jin released yet another album entitled “The Narrator”. This is Jin’s first true jazz album with inspiration from the 70s and 80s “jazz fusion” era.
