Nixa, MO—Artist Greg Chappell will be speaking at Lucid TLC Arts at 214 N. Massey Blvd. in Nixa on Friday, August 18, 6-7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Chappell, who is a representational painter, will share his passion for art and the Da Vinci method of painting.
Growing up in a military family, Chappell had the opportunity to visit art museums throughout the Western World. Yet, in school he was disappointed in the art curriculum wherever he attended. “As an adult, I took it upon myself to study the Old Masters and experiment with pigments to unlock the secrets of their techniques,” he said. This experimentation and study led to him developing his own style, which he employs today.
Chappell is now an instructor specializing in Renaissance art and the Old Masters’ technique of indirect painting wet on dry. His work can be found at http://chappellart.com and will be featured at Lucid TLC Arts in October.
