Nixa, Missouri—Lucid TLC Studio & Art Gallery will host the art of area photographer Dee Albers as its featured artist for December. The exhibit will showcase many of Albers’ landscapes in prints and on canvas. The studio/gallery is located at 214 north Massey Boulevard. An opening night reception will be held on Saturday, December 2, 6-8 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided. This reception is free and open to the public.
Along with Albers’ work, Curtis Copeland, an Ozark historian and writer, will be on hand to autograph copies of his latest book, Mildred, Quit Hollering!, which he co-wrote with Vance Randolph and Augustus Finch. The book, which is now available for sale at Lucid TLC, is a compilation of Ozark folk tales. So come on out to sip some wine and enjoy the art. To see the featured artwork at other times during the month contact proprietor Tiffany Collins at (417) 755-3724 to arrange a viewing.
Albers is a local photographer who has been in business for 15 years. She has a studio in Nixa, where she captures the area with her camera through people—families, ancestorial lines and individuals. “I love capturing headshots for businesses, too,” she said. She also takes photos of homes for real estate investors. Adding her landscape work into the mix, Albers is a well-rounded photographer, who serves the community through her photo documentation.
Other happenings at Lucid TLC Studio & Gallery this coming month include: a weekly adult watercolor class on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon, with art instructor Paula Moore and a weekly adult acrylic painting class on Tuesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with art instructor Peggy Dyke.
