Shaping Tomorrow: An Examination of Charitable Giving Trends, Behaviors, and Preferences of Those Under 40
Date: February 27, 3-5pm @ The Creamery Arts Center
Presenter: Paige Oxendine, Habitat Communication & Culture
As the philanthropic landscape evolves, it is essential for professional fundraisers and nonprofit agencies to adapt and engage with the changing needs and preferences of the under-40 demographic. Based on Habitat Communication & Cultures’ extensive research study examining donor attitudes and preferences, this session will offer invaluable insights into the unique perspectives, motivations, and expectations of younger donors when it comes to charitable giving.
During this session, we’ll uncover the distinct ways in which those under the age of 40 think about charitable giving, enabling nonprofit agencies to better understand and connect with this critical group of donors. We will explore how the next generation of donors evaluates impact, transparency, and their personal connections to organizations as they make decisions about where to lend both financial and hands-on forms of support.
Objectives:
An understanding of the key ways in which giving preferences and behaviors are different for those under the age of 40 compared to those who are over the age of 40
Awareness of how technology and digital platforms are changing the way younger donors interact with agencies
A series of recommendations to consider enacting to more effectively connect with prospective donors under the age of 40
