Celebrating Creativity and Community
“Bad Art by Good People” is a unique event where community leaders and local artists collaborate to create art inspired by their love for Springfield, Missouri. The event aims to show that anyone can create art, at any skill level and to strengthen community bonds through the joy of making art together. This celebration of creativity showcases local artistic talent and provides participants an opportunity to highlight causes they care about the most.

Meet the Leaders and Mentors
Leaders
Influential figures from various sectors of Springfield, including business, education and nonprofit organizations, will step into the role of students. Through this experience, they will explore their artistic abilities and express their love for the community.

Leslie Forrester
Executive Director
Dedicated to building a thriving arts and culture community, Leslie Forrester serves as the Executive Director. She came to this role in 2013 after supporting community arts at the Missouri Arts Council. Leslie holds a BFA from Culver-Stockton College and an MFA from Southern Utah University in Arts Administration.

Sarah Abele
Executive Director
Dedicated to building a thriving arts and culture community, Leslie Forrester serves as the Executive Director. She came to this role in 2013 after supporting community arts at the Missouri Arts Council. Leslie holds a BFA from Culver-Stockton College and an MFA from Southern Utah University in Arts Administration.

Sarah Abele
