Reimagine Christ’s final days with the Little Theatre’s Jesus Christ Superstar

Springfield Little Theatre presents Jesus Christ Superstar

The Springfield Little Theatre (SLT) proudly presents Jesus Christ Superstar at the historic Landers Theatre from Friday, March 31 through Saturday, April 15, 2017.

In the first ever rock opera by the authors of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Evita and the composer of CATS and Phantom of the Opera, Christ’s final days are dramatized with emotional intensity, thought-provoking edge, and explosive theatricality.

Wowing audiences for more than 40 years, Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless work set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally-known series of events, as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Propelled by a stirring score and turns driving and majestic, satirical and tender, Jesus Christ Superstar is an impassioned global phenomenon.

The show is directed and choreographed by Lorianne Dunn with music direction by Susan Gravatt. It stars Chip Holderman as Jesus, Sean Spyres as Judas, and Maggie Shermoen as Mary Magdalene. Supporting cast members include Devin Farmer, Derrick DeVonne King, William “Billy” Gowers, Patrick Schuster, Robert Reed, Clayton Avery, Brian Cain, Doug Cannon, Jim James, Andy Bryan, and many others.

Jesus Christ Superstar is rated PG. Tickets range in price from $14-$30; group pricing is available. Visit to purchase your tickets and select your seats 24/7.

Parent’s Night Out is offered on Saturday, April 1 for only $10 per child. Drop your kids off at 5:30pm and treat yourself to dinner before watching the performance. Children will enjoy a full evening of theatre activities and can be picked up in the lobby following the show.

SLT offers Backstage Pass Tours before the performance on Sundays, April 2 or 9 for $8; pre-registration is required at the time of your ticket purchase. Observe company warm-ups prior to the show, take a guided backstage tour, and receive a signed poster and photo with the cast.
