Springfield Little Theatre's 2017-18 season

Springfield Little Theatre (SLT) proudly announces its 83rd season at the historic Landers Theatre. A quest for truth and authenticity, the 2017-2018 season features seven hilarious, heartfelt, and inspirational live productions and one unique, immersive special event.


The season opens with Mamma Mia! on September 15 and runs through October 8. Based on the hit songs by ABBA and featuring Springfield-native and Broadway star Kim Crosby as the mother, Mamma Mia! tells the hilarious tale of a daughter’s search for her birth father before her wedding on a small Greek island.


The Miracle Worker opens October 26 and runs through November 5. This remarkable family drama is based on Helen Keller’s autobiography and focuses on the extraordinary teacher who taught her to communicate with the world, Annie Sullivan. It is an inspirational story about discipline, persistence, and the strength of the human spirit.


For the holidays, Elf Jr. opens November 24 and runs through December 10. Based on the beloved holiday film, this hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy features a talented youth cast and follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity and help New York City remember the true meaning of Christmas.


The New Year opens with West Side Story on January 18 and runs through February 4. Young lovers are caught between prejudice and warring street gangs in this seminal retelling of Romeo and Juliet written by Arthur Laurent with music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.


On February 14, Valentine’s Day, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding opens at The Old Glass Place and runs through February 25. The special event is one-of-a-kind entertainment – an immersive comedy show staged as an evening of nuptials, and audience members are treated as wedding guests. As the night unfolds, anything can happen!


Next up is Madagascar Jr. opening on March 22 and running through April 8. Featuring a talented youth cast and filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore, and an upbeat score, embark on an unforgettable journey out of the zoo and onto the stage with your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends from the blockbuster film.


How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying opens May 4 and runs through May 20. It's just another day at the office in this classic satire of big business. An irreverent romp jam-packed with sly, swift, and sharp jabs to the funny bone, How to Succeed is a delightfully clever lampoon of life on the corporate ladder!


The season closes with All Shook Up on June 8 and runs through June 24. Built around 24 songs made famous by Elvis Presley and inspired byTwelfth Night, All Shook Up tells the story of a small town girl with big dreams and the leather-jacketed, motorcycle-riding stud who changes everything.
