2018 Ozzie's Leadership Award goes to Greg Burris
During his tenure as Springfield’s City Manager, Greg Burris provided consistent support for the arts in the region. He created an “Arts & Culture” chapter in the community-wide strategic planning process, increased public access to art, and approved the use of a city-owned building for the home of the Springfield Regional Arts Council and other arts organizations. “The arts are like the spice in the stew,” Greg says. “They infuse a community with unique flavor.” In June 2018, Greg became the Executive Director of Give 5 Program, a new initiative to encourage recent retirees to give back through volunteering. He also has a steady gig playing guitar at Brentwood Christian Church each Sunday.
Come celebrate Greg Burris, and all he has contributed to the arts in the area, at this year's Ozzie Awards. This festive gala includes gourmet food from touch, dazzling conversations with the area's best and brightest, and live musical performances. Greg's band, "The Leather Butterfly" will perform.
