Between the Lines: Myths & Muses

The Springfield Regional Arts Council is hosting an artists' challenge and exhibit at The Creamery Arts Center inspired by the novel "Circe" by Madeline Miller. "Circe" is The Springfield-Greene County Library District's One Read* celebration. Local artists working in all media are challenged to transform classic tales and muses into something new and modern.

"Every culture has its myths, monsters, heroes and villains. We want to see how local contemporary artists interpret these themes," says Rachel Johnson, Director of Exhibitions and Programming.

Submission deadline is February 21st and 22, 2019. Drop off work at The Creamery between 9am and 5pm. Work must be wired and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers will be accepted. There are no size restrictions on this exhibit. Of the submitted pieces, work will be hung at The Creamery Arts Center, as well as various library branches around the district.

The exhibit will open with a First Friday Artwalk reception on Friday, March 1st at The Creamery.
