‘Pushing Back: From Circe to #MeToo’ March 26 at Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library

Adults are invited to attend Pushing Back: From Circe to #MeToo at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd.

The stories of Circe, Captain Marvel and the #MeToo movement all revolve around women speaking up and fighting back. Join Missouri State University professors Dr. Erin Kenny, Michael Frizell and Dr. Holly Holladay, as they connect centuries-old powerful female deities, modern American-made superheroines and current movements in the media for a stirring discussion of female power and where we go from here.

This program is part of the Library’s One Read. “Circe” is this year’s selected One Read title, which we encourage the whole community to read, discuss and explore related topics at the library’s One Read programs. Visit thelibrary.org/oneread for a complete schedule of events.
