Each fall, the Springfield Regional Arts Council celebrates local arts and its supporters with the Ozzie Awards. With the unique circumstances surrounding 2020, this year The Ozzies will be a retrospective show reminding us how “The Arts Endure.”
To support that theme, we invite artists to submit up to 5 black and white works on the theme “retrospect” a nod toward nostalgia and memories, for our fall show at the Sky Gallery in the Springfield Branson National Airport.
Springfield Regional Arts Council artists are encouraged to submit a 2D work of art of any media to be on display at The Sky Gallery from September through November 2020.
Submit up to 5 digital images (JPGs) of actual works you hope to have selected for exhibition. Name each JPG with your first initial, last name and piece title (example: JSmithTitle.jpg). Send all submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight, August 14th, 2020.
Because of the nature of the exhibition space in which the show will take place, submissions must meet the following restrictions:
· Artwork (including dimension of frame) is recommended to be at least 36” on one side.
· Hanging the art requires that the piece be wired with D-Rings, 1/3 of the way down the back of the work. Works must be two-dimensional (no three-dimensional work)
Artists will be selected by an anonymous jurying process. All submissions will be notified of acceptance or rejection by mid August. All participating artists are expected to drop off their work at the airport during a timeframe provided by the arts council upon acceptance.
