Caldecott winner to speak at Art Museum

Sophie Blackall won the 2016 Caldecott Medal for her tender illustrations in "Finding Winnie, The True Story of the World's Most Famous Bear." She will tell the story of the bear that became the lovable Winnie the Pooh we know today, April 13 (7pm) at Springfield Art Museum. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing after the event.

Blackall has illustrated more than 30 books for children including the New York Times best-selling series "Ivy and Bean." Her visit is part of the Library's One Read in April, and "Finding Winnie" is the featured title.
