Springfield Little Theatre (SLT) proudly presents The Addams Family: A New Musical Comedy at the historic Landers Theatre (311 E Walnut) beginning Friday, June 9 through Sunday, June 25, 2017. Performances start at 7:30pm on Thursdays-Saturdays and at 2pm on Sundays.
That loveable family of creepy kooks is alive and well and living in their super-spooky mansion in Central Park. The Addams family, led by the elegantly gaunt and seemingly undead Morticia and her ever-devoted husband Gomez, is in turmoil.
Their daughter Wednesday, now 18, finds herself falling in love—a sensation that is unsettling for both her and her family of endearing misfits. When the teen invites her new boyfriend Lucas Beineke to dinner with his “normal” family to get better acquainted with the Addams household, comic chaos ensues.
The show is directed by Beth Domann, choreographed by Lorianne Dunn, and music directed by Susan Gravatt. The production stars Jeff Jenkins (Gomez), Shannon Hobbs (Morticia), Zoe Zelonky (Wednesday), Wyatt Munsey (Pugsley), Bethany Brown (Grandma), William Paul Gowers (Lurch), Jalen Lee (Fester), Aaron Campbell (Mal), Dayna McConville (Alice), Wesley Bryan (Lucas), and many others.
Domann says, “The Addams Family has so many layers and such interesting psychology. It really makes you wonder if everything is the way it seems. The normal people are the most messed up and the weird people are the happiest and healthiest. Leave the pretenses at the door for this show and break out of the box with us!”
The Addams Family: A New Musical Comedy is rated PG. Tickets range in price from $12-$30; group pricing is available for parties of 10 or more. Visit SpringfieldLittleTheatre.org to purchase your tickets and select your seats.
