Each year, the Springfield Regional Arts Council presents awards to those who have embodied the pioneering creative spirit of the region's arts community at the most celebrated collaborative arts gala of the year, The Ozzie Awards.

Hosted by the Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC), The Ozzie Awards are given each year to individuals, organizations, and businesses, which have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the arts. In its 34th year, past winners have all exhibited an extended service in promoting the arts, a broad spectrum of involvement within the arts community, and have been a catalyst of growth of the arts in the Springfield area.

Thirteen years ago, Jeff & Kyaw launched “Springfield and the Ozarks 48-Hour Film Festival,” (SATO48), where filmmakers had 48 hours to create a 5-minute film from start to finish.

This year, Alberta Smith is honored for her work as a choir teacher and director at the Springfield Public School District and OTC.
The Springfield Regional Arts Council (SRAC) is delighted to announce the winners of the 2016 Ozzie Awards, given to those who embody the pioneering, creative spirit of the Southwest Missouri arts community. The recipients are honored for their extended service, broad involvement, and support beyond professional duties. These individuals and organizations have proven to be catalysts for growth of local arts.
