Grab lunch to go and head to the Annex at The Creamery Arts Center Friday, March 9 for Wild Bob's Lunch with singer-songwriter Eddie Gumucio 12:15-12:45pm. Gumucio will share songs written for Wild Bob's Musical Book Club, Springfield's monthly book club featuring local songwriters inspired by different texts.

Discuss books written by British authors. This month’s selection is “Death Comes to Pemberley” by P. D. James. Tea and biscuits will be provided.

Clif Petty “Before the Sun Goes Down” Book Talk and Signing

Drury University professor and author Clif Petty will talk about his debut novel, “Before the Sun Goes Down,” at 6p.m. on Thursday, July 6, in Library Center meeting room A. Books will be available for purchase and signing. In this terrorism thriller, a college student is framed for the murder of his roommate on a university campus, and the investigation eventually pulls in two brothers with military backgrounds who gradually uncover a plot by a secret organization to cultivate and unleash a bioweapon, starting with a meeting of high-powered technology and finance leaders.

Dinah Havens "The Last Classroom" Book Signing

Springfield author Dinah Havens will sell and sign copies of her book, “The Last Classroom,” from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, in the Library Center concourse, 4653 S. Campbell Ave.

A single mother and her son from small Beachtown, Missouri, decide to indulge on a vacation to New York City. When an accident changes their lives, the teenage boy finds out that there is a large bill from the hospital waiting in the mailbox. Being the small population that Beachtown is, the boy finds only one place to earn pay: the slaughterhouse. Proceeds from book sales will benefit the ASPCA.
