Pre-K Project Day at the Springfield Art Museum

Project Days are a more structured, focused version of our Open Studios. These classes begin with storytime, followed by a guided hands-on project designed to feed a youngster's imagination. Project Days cost $5 per participating child, and all materials are provided. Registration is required.

Art Exploration for Kids

‘Art Exploration’ Jan. 11 at Library Station

Families with children of all ages are invited to attend Art Exploration at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, in the Library Station Story Hour Room, 2535 N. Kansas Expressway.

Enjoy a story and art making for the whole family! Work together to create a family masterpiece based on an art style from the featured picture book. This month’s title is “The Story of Snowflake and Inkdrop” Illustrated by Simona Mulazzani. Project: Watercolor Crayon-resist Snowflakes. Bring your creativity; materials will be provided.

‘Masterpiece Art Studio: Galaxy Sensory Bottles’ July 25 at Willard Branch Library

Children in grades 4-8 are invited to attend Masterpiece Art Studio: Galaxy Sensory Bottles at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Willard Branch Library, 304 E. Jackson St.

Create your own universe in a bottle. Materials will be provided; space is limited.

Disney's High School Musical, Jr.

It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple causes an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.
