Come sip mimosas at Urban Roots Farm and learn from local florist, Sarah Stracke, how to craft a gorgeous bouquet using local and foraged flowers. A brunch featuring the season’s finest and prepared by Chef Katie Baker, of A Gracious Plate will follow. Leave the farm with a full belly and take home the arrangement you made!

Art Festival Workshop - Springfield

Art Festival Workshop

Visual artists of all media who are interested in the application process for juried art festivals are encouraged to participate. The first workshop will be in Springfield at The Creamery Arts Center on Sunday, December 15, noon-3pm. The second workshop will be in Joplin on Sunday, January 12, noon-3pm (more info to come). The Springfield workshop is free, though a $10 donation is encouraged.

This week’s theme is Wonder Woman. Discover your coding superpowers during an afternoon adventure with Wonder Woman and other superheroes who will be onsite while you learn to code. Materials will be provided.

This month’s topic Alien Costume Makeup Tutorial. Watch a professional makeup artist from Associated Theatrical Contractors transform their model into an alien right before your eyes. Ask questions and get advice on how to achieve different looks and utilize techniques – just in time for your August 17 LibraryCon cosplay.
