Originally from the Springfield Missouri area, Marian's work has been influenced by a strong personal drive, an art and art history based education, and her experiences as an educator and personal experiences residing in other states. She works in printmaking, pastel, graphite, and watercolor, as well as in a variety of other media. Printmaking has been a recent passion for her, as it allows her to combine drawing and an involved artistic and technical process. Creating portraits that capture the personality of the sitter are one of her specialties. Marian holds a BA in Studio Art and Art History, and a ME in Art Education, both from Drury University. Her work has been in numerous regional juried shows and can be found at Fresh Gallery.
