Ever since Janine began taking watercolor lessons in 2009, her love for the medium continues to grow. Janine now paints regularly in her home studio in St. Charles, MO, learning and growing as an artist, experimenting with various subjects, styles, and materials.
Janine is a Signature Member of the St. Louis Watercolor Society, a Juried Member of the Greater St. Louis Art Association, as well as a member of the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre, Oak Leaf Artist Guild, Visual Artist Alliance of Springfield, Springfield Regional Arts Council, Branson Arts Council, and National Watercolor Society.
Her paintings have won numerous awards in art competitions around the state, and she has sold her paintings nationally.
Janine is a resident artist in two Missouri galleries: Missouri Artists on Main (St. Charles, MO) and Fresh Gallery (Springfield, MO).
The majority of my paintings begin with a photograph taken by either myself or my husband. I always try to have a camera on hand to capture precious moments... my fleeting backyard birds, the perfect lighting on a flower, the innocence of a child. I love to paint loose, watery backgrounds with more detailed subjects.
