Ken Burstin originally is from New York, but has lived in Springfield since 1979. He is a retired forensic psychologist, and performed thousands of mental evaluations in criminal cases over a career spanning 37 years. Married for 47 years, he and Vicki have twin daughters and four grandchildren.
My preferred medium is acrylic paint, using both brush and finger-painting techniques. Ken uses color to develop emotion and movement, echoing the principles of psychology and the Fauvist art movement; and creates both abstract and representational pieces. He is a member of the Springfield Regional Arts Council, Southwest Missouri Museum Associates (SMMA), Visual Arts Group, and Studio 55 Fine Art Guild. He has exhibited in local venues including Sky Gallery, Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, the Springfield Art Museum, and the Creamery.
