My name is Catherine Livesay, and I am the artist behind Linden House Textiles. I am a mother, a teacher, and fiber artist.
My woven wall hangings are an ode to the sense of touch, in that I strive to create art that demands to be felt, explored, and engaged with on a deeper sensory level. Viewers often run their palms over the bumps and ridges of the weft, or rake their fingers through the fringe–without even realizing what they’re doing, until they suddenly pull back and apologize for touching the artwork. I love that the art I create compels someone–despite their best effort–to defy convention and just reach out and touch it.
