Second Saturday Community Crafts

‘Second Saturday Community Crafts’ May 11 at Park Central Branch Library

Patrons of all ages are invited to attend Second Saturday Community Crafts from noon-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the Park Central Branch Library, 128 Park Central Square.

Stop by during Second Saturday Art Walk and contribute to the month’s collaborative community craft, which will be displayed through the month. This month’s project is Planets and Moons: Celestial Art. Materials will be provided.

"Book Bites" for Tweens

‘Book Bites’ May 10 at Willard Branch Library

Registration is underway for children in grades 4-6 to attend Book Bites at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 10, at the Willard Branch Library, 304 E. Jackson St.

Explore a different middle grade novel each month. Listen along as we read aloud the first few chapters while working on a craft. This month’s selection is “Chomp” by Carl Hiaasen. Materials and snacks will be provided; seating is limited.

Springfield Dance Alliance is hosting a Day of Dance on Saturday, April 27th from 10am to 3pm.

We are offering dance and fitness classes for ages 5 to adult. Registration is only $5 and you can choose a specific class or dance all day!

Registration is underway for teens in grades 6-12 to attend Illustration Station: Afternoon Artist in Residence Workshop from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, at the Schweitzer Brentwood Branch Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd.

Love to draw and paint? This workshop is for you! Artist-illustrator Tori Hererra will provide drawing and painting demonstrations with an emphasis on illustration. You’ll get to complete an original piece of art during the workshop. Materials will be provided.
